Mike previously served as Guam Society President from 2011 to 2014. He has been a long standing and active member of the Society since 2000.
Mike was instrumental in establishing the Society’s Scholarship Program, developing the Scholarship Charter and laying the foundation for the current program. He streamlined the overall organization and processes of the Society and transitioned its initial online capabilities, presence and financial operations using tools and online processes beyond the manual efforts that were previously in place. He chaired several successful event committees and demonstrated that financial solvency and responsibility was achievable without placing burden on the organization. He helped to update and revamp the Society’s governing by-laws with the goal of achieving an IRS 501c (3) non-profit status for the organization. He served as the Congressional Liaison for the Society working directly with Guam’s Congressional Delegates to the U.S. Congress providing assistance and coordination in support of congressional events and activities promoting Guam and its people. His roots will forever be in Guam and he is always keeping abreast of major activities on the island, be they education, military/security, economic, cultural, social, health, environment related.
He is originally from the village of Dededo, Guam, with family roots from the villages of Mangilao, Guam (Familian Cudie) and Piti (Familian Tibutshu/Hook). He is married to Juvy Rosete Blas and their children, Jonathan and Joelle and families have been members of the Guam Society of America for many years. Mike resides in Woodbridge, Virginia – but he will always tell you that is where he lives, but he is from Guam.
Mike is a retired Army Finance/Systems Automation Officer and currently works as a Systems Engineer/defense contractor supporting many Department of Defense projects and organizations.

Sara is a long time member of the Guam Society of America and currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband Keith.
She has been a past Vice-President and Secretary for the Guam Society, as well as chaired key committees for the Society including the Scholarship and Cherry Blossom Ball Committees.

Eva has been a long time and active member of the Society and an avid supporter of our Chamorro culture. She and her husband Gabe (a former Vice-President of the Society) and their three children, Christian, Donovan, and Bella are staunch supporters of the Society and all of its efforts to promote Guam’s culture and to continue its history as the oldest Chamorro Club in the United States.

Char has served as Vice President for the Guam Society. She and her husband, Mel Harris and their families have been long standing and active members of the Guam Society of America. She has chaired several committees for the Society and is a steadfast contributor and volunteer for the Society’s events throughout her many years in the Washington, DC Metro area.
