President: Bernard Aguon

Bernard is the son of Lorenzo Pangelinan Aguon (Familian Tiso / Baleria) and Annie Yamaguchi Quitugua (Familian Carabao) of Liguan Terrace,  Dededo, Guam.

Bernard has over 30 years of service in the United States Army and currently works at the National Guard Bureau Headquarters in Arlington. Bernard is a product of the Guam public school system having attended Adelup and Finegayan Elementary, Dededo Middle and Simon A. Sanchez High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and is working on his Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership. When not in uniform Bernard enjoys golfing and listening to music, but his greatest joy is spending time with his family.

Jennifer is the Aguon household CEO and director of child development in the Aguon home. A graduate of the University of San Francisco, she holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and oversees the family’s rental property in Guam. While on Guam she enjoyed working for the Guam Chamber of Commerce and Outrigger Guam Resort, and serving the Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, Kamalen Karidat, and Saint Francis Church Choir. Jennifer is an O’Mallan from the village of Yona and is a graduate of St. Francis School and Notre Dame High School.

Bernard & Jennifer Aguon are from Ordot-Chalan Pago, Guam and currently reside 0n Fort Belvoir, Virginia with their four children Rocco, Rio, Aurora and Andre.

Bernard is serving his second term as Guam Society President for 2023-2024.

Vice President: Edgar Yanger

Edgar (Ed) Yanger is a long time member (1997) of the Guam Society of America and currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia with his wife Doris.

Ed grew up in the village of Mangilao and is a graduate of the Guam Vocational-Technical High School (1975). He is also a graduate of the University of Hawaii at
Manoa (1981) where he studied Architecture. He received a commission through the UH Army ROTC program and served in the US Army as an Engineer from 1981 to
2013, achieving the rank of Colonel and retiring after 32 years of service. Ed worked briefly (2017-2018) as the Military Legislative Assistant for
Congresswoman Madeline Z. Bordallo the Guam Delegate to the US Congress.

Ed’s family is Familian Liberato (Taitano) and Doris is familian Chelenko (Guerrero) and Alibadu (San Nicolas). He and Doris have two grown children: Jonathan
married to Angelica Jasmin; and Melina married to David Yue.

Ed enjoys completing home improvement projects as well as fishing and an occasional golf outing. Ed and Doris are enjoying their retirements and regularly attend Guam Society of
America events.

Treasurer: Anthony ‘Ton’ Weilbacher

Ton is the son of Lourdes “Lou” Garrido Manibusan (Familian Kadi, originally from Tamuning, deceased/defunta) and Florencio “Flores” Bernard Weilbacher (natively of Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia, Kankuh Clan, deceased/defuntu). Ton was raised in NCS, Dededo for the first 22 years of his life where he attended Finegayan Elementary School, Dededo Middle School, and John F. Kennedy High School during his primary and secondary educational years. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Economics from the University of Guam (UOG).

As a graduate of the UOG Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), he simultaneously received a commission as a Regular Army Second Lieutenant in the US Army’s Finance Corps and has been on Active Duty since May 2003. After acceptance into the Army’s Civil Schooling Program later in his career, he obtained his Master of Business Administration, Executive Master of Public Administration, and Advanced Certificate in Nonprofit Organizations from Syracuse University, New York in August 2015. Ton is currently assigned to Headquarters, Department of the Army G-1 (Personnel) and will have served 20 years before his official retirement from the Army in June 2023.

Ton is married to the former Kathrina “Kat” Matsumiya Perez (Familian Boñu from Piti), who also attended UOG along with Ton in their dating years. Kat was a recipient of UOG’s Dr. Antonio C. Yamashita Teacher Corps scholarship program, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She’s been an Army spouse since they married in May 2003 in Piti, Guam, and has taught in several states throughout Ton’s Army career. Kat is currently a Kindergarten teacher at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School in Falls Church, Virginia.

While off duty, Ton enjoys singing, playing the guitar, and volunteering as a lector and a Knight of Columbus for his parish at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Springfield, Virginia.
Ton and Kat currently live in Alexandria, Virginia and are proud parents of their beautiful daughter Aria (born Sep 2017). They look forward to retiring in the DC/Maryland/Virginia (DMV), and Ton looks forward to starting a second career while supporting the Guam Society of America and its members!

Secretary: Gerard S. Baleto

Gerard is the son of Patricia Siguenza Baleto (Familian Bombo and Dasu, Afame Sinajana) and Joseph Garrido Baleto dec. (Familian Cap, Santa Rita). Gerard was born and raised in Mangilao where he completed his primary and secondary education. He graduated from Father Duenas Memorial School and attended University of Guam earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Masters degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Emergency Management.

While earning his Bachelor of Science degree, he received his commission in the United States Army through the University of Guam Reserve Officer Training Corps as a Second Lieutenant in the Guam Army National Guard where he continues to serve on active duty while assigned to the National Guard Bureau in the G1 Human Resource Information Systems Division, Arlington, Virginia.

Gerard is married to the former Ann Guihama Hecita, who also attended the University of Guam to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and later earned her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Portland. Ann went on to earn a Doctoral in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in literacy from Argosy University. She currently works as the District Literacy Coordinator for the Falls Church Public School System, Fall Church, Virginia.

Gerard and Ann live in Woodbridge, Virginia and have five beautiful children (Shawnee, Xander, Paighton, Xian, Xaiden). Gerard enjoys spending time with his family, San Francisco 49er football, cooking, fishing, and playing golf when not busy. He is thankful for the opportunity to stay in touch with Guamanians and contributing to the Guam Society of America mission while residing in the Continental United States.
